Does everyone playing have to be in the same location?

Not at all! Savage Hall takes place entirely over Zoom so your group can play together anywhere in the world.

Can I cancel or reschedule after booking?

We realize that things come up, but in order to plan appropriately and provide the best experience for everyone, all sales should be considered final. We do not offer refunds or schedule exchanges at this time.

Yikes! I didn’t use a valid email when buying tickets. What should I do?

Please contact ross@halloffg.com and let them know your appointment details and preferred email address.

What happens if a member of my group cancels?

As long as you have at least 4 people in your group then you’re okay to play! Let your moderator know at the start of the session and they’ll make the necessary adjustments. If you have less than 4 people because someone cancels then unfortunately the game cannot continue.  Prior to your appointment every guest will receive a zoom link and session details, but it doesn't hurt to remind your crew to be on time. We do not offer refunds or schedule exchanges at this time.

Can I take my own photos? Can I record our game?

We ask that players not record or take screenshots from their session. At the end of the experience your moderator will provide you with a snapshot of your team.

What if I don’t have one of the props recommended in the intro email?

If you don’t have one or any of the props available that’s totally okay! The use of the props is to help make the experience even more immersive; it won’t hinder the actual gameplay though. It’s not a bad idea, however, to mention to your moderator if you don’t have a particular talisman.

If I arrive late can I still experience the game?

Once the experience has begun the moderator will not be able to admit additional players. We recommend players arrive up 30 minutes prior to their appointment in order to ensure that the entire group is logged in and set-up promptly.

Is this a scary experience?

Not particularly, but it does include references to the supernatural.   It also involves WWII with sound effects that depict air raids and explosions.

Do I have to dress up?

Not if you don’t want to. Dressing up for the 1940’s era is another way to make the experience more immersive for some people. But it’s not necessary for gameplay. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable!

How many people can play per game?

Savage Hall is experienced with groups of 4-6 players.

How long does the game last?

Actual gameplay lasts anywhere between 1.5 - 2 hours. We do take up to 30 minutes at the beginning of the session to do some technical checks in order to make sure everyone’s system is running  smoothly.

Do you have to be tech savvy to play?

Not really. Savage Hall utilizes Zoom for gameplay so the tech is pretty straight forward. If you have any questions or concerns during gameplay you can ask your moderator for help. Any and all heavy lifting with the software is handled on our end. Sit back and enjoy!

Is Savage Hall played remotely?

Yes it is. It’s played entirely over Zoom.

Is there an age restriction?

There is no strict age restriction for this game. We recommend it for players  ages 14 and up.

When will I receive my session specifics and zoom link?

Within 24 hours of scheduling your game, you will be contacted by a “research assistant.” Your zoom link and follow-up details will be sent closer to the show date. If you have not received your zoom link by the day of your appointment, please contact: ross@halloffg.com

Should we book a time slot before we have a group or after?

It’s not required to have a group already chosen when you book your game. However, we recommend it. That way you already know when everyone is available and there’s less chance someone will cancel on you. If there’s less than 4 people on the day of the game then the session will not continue.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay via credit card or paypal.

If we live together can we share a computer? Can we be in the same room?

Unfortunately, no. All participants need to have access to their own computer. Additionally, we advise against being in the same room with another player. Everyone has their own individual narratives and you don’t want anyone else to hear your secrets, motivations, and private conversations!

Will I be required to act or perform in front of others?

Only as much as you’re comfortable with. Some people really enjoy getting into their character. They change the way they talk and use different mannerisms. But that’s not for everyone. Act in whichever way allows you to enjoy the experience most!

If I can’t make it can I give my spot to a friend?

Yes! But be sure to forward all the information you have received from the “research assistant” to the substitute player and contact Ross@halloffg.com to let them know about the change. It also doesn’t hurt for someone to mention the exchange to your moderator at the start of the appointment.

Is this a game you can play multiple times?

Savage Hall is optimized for single playthrough, but we do offer spectator passes so that you can watch other friends and family experience it for the first time
